FLOOR ASSIGNMENT REQUEST – Select your preferred floor. Keep in mind that the above-ground basement amenities are a private gender neutral washroom with a shower stall, laundry rooms, kitchen and dining, tv social area. The residence building is accessible by staircase only as the elevator is decommissioned.

Do you need a vehicle parking permit pass? On-campus parking fee for residents only. Residence room rental fee and parking pass fee are non-refundable and are not prorated. Once charged to your bank account, these fees apply for the full term, and no credit or partial refunds will be issued for early move-out, non-use, or cancellation.

STUDENT SEXUAL VIOLENCE AWARENESS PREVENTION PROGRAM (all students)
In partnership with Nova Scotia universities, AST requires all residents to complete Sexual Violence Awareness Program (SVAP) training. New residents must attend a mandatory one-hour session shortly after arrival (offered in September, January, June, and July). Returning residents must complete a mandatory 15-minute annual refresher. Check your email inbox for scheduled sessions and registration details.

I acknowledge and agree that I am financially responsible for the full rental amount for the entire period I have selected, regardless of early departure or room surrender. I further acknowledge that residence agreements are issued for a maximum duration of twelve (12) consecutive months (September 1 to August 31), that any occupancy beyond the stated term is subject to annual fee revisions taking effect each upcoming academic year, and that I must submit a new application form for any subsequent stay.I understand and agree that if the Business Office continues to keep my security deposit for the following academic year, starting in September: (1) I agree I have to pay the difference of the old security deposit rate to the new security deposit rate and (2) I agree to pay the Residence Academic Residence Activities fee even if I reside in residence for only one term. https://www.astheology.ns.ca/residence/rates/* I understand and agree to early-arrival fees if I decide to move in before my Residence Agreement begins, which is the Residence Move In Date I selected on this application form. If I request to move in before this date, an early-arrival rate of $51 per night will apply. If I move directly into my assigned room, only the nightly rate will apply. If AST provides a different room before my Residence Agreement begins, an additional one-time $50 cleaning fee will apply. All early-arrival fees must be paid before move-in and are subject to room availability and approval by Residence.* I understand and agree to late departure fees. Monthly rental fee is charged per calendar month. based on the Residence Move-Out Date selected on this application form. If your selected Move-Out Date is before the end of the calendar month and you remain in Residence beyond that date, a late-departure rate of $51 per night will apply for each additional night. Late departures are subject to advance approval and room availability, and any additional charges must be paid before the approved extension.
I have read the (1) Residence Policies and General Information, (2) AST Residence Policy Document, (3) Resident Handbook, and (4) AST Sexual Violence Policy on the AST website and agree to abide by any standards and regulations specified there. All these documents can be revised at any time.
⚠️Important Lifestyle & Building Disclosures

Before completing this application, please ensure you have read "Resident Rights & Responsibilities" by clicking here to read the document. By submitting this application, you explicitly acknowledge that you understand and accept the following structural and operational realities of AST Residence:

Physical Infrastructure: The AST Residence Building is a historic, multi-storey heritage structure featuring stair-only access with absolute-zero elevator access. Residents are entirely responsible for managing their own mobility and luggage up and down multiple flights of stairs.

Assigned Room: Your final room assignment may be changed by The Residence Service Team up to the day of your arrival to accommodate collective community health, medical, and accessibility needs.

The Women’s Wing: The Women’s Wing rooms, washrooms, and kitchen are strictly reserved for individuals who identify as women; guests of any other gender identity (including family and friends) are completely prohibited from entering these spaces.

Strict Scent-Reduced & Smoke-Free Campus: The entire campus is 100% smoke-free and vape-free (including all private bedrooms and outdoor grounds). Violations carry a mandatory $250.00 fine per incident and zero-warning eviction thresholds for serious misconduct.

Washrooms: All day visitors, including family and friends, are to use the above-ground basement washroom. The washrooms on the other floors are strictly assigned to residences only.

Visitors: All visitors can visit between 7 am and 11 pm and must abide by all AST residence rules. The visitor bathroom is in the above-ground basement. If a visitor wishes to stay overnight, you will need to complete the Short Stay Visitor Residence Application Form.

Quiet Hours: (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.): Please be courteous and mindful of noise, as sound travels easily throughout the building and residents have different sleeping, studying, and work schedules.

If any of these environmental, structural, or community rules conflict with your lifestyle or personal comfort, we respectfully suggest exploring alternate housing arrangements before submitting this form.
