Which long‑term stay monthly room rental do you prefer? Before moving in, residents are required to pay a "Security Deposit" and a "Residence Activity Fee" (details below). Following move-in, rent is collected on the first of every month. Your security deposit is fully refundable upon move-out, provided the room or apartment and AST lending items are returned in their original condition. Residence room rental fee is non-refundable and is not prorated. Once charged to your account, these fees apply for the full term of this agreement, and no credit or partial refunds will be issued for early move-out, non-use, or cancellation. *This fee will cover stays for AST Students only, who will be in residence from June 13 – July 25 in either a large or standard single room. Any additional nights will be billed at $51/night. There will be no credit for shortened stays. Students who are attending only one or two summer intensive courses will be billed at the usual short term stay rate.

SEXUAL VIOLENCE AWARENESS PREVENTION PROGRAM

AST, together with other universities in Nova Scotia, participates in a program to educate students about sexual violence awareness. Each new resident is required to attend SVP training shortly after arrival. Sessions are typically offered in September/October (for students arriving in the Fall semester), January/February (for students arriving in the Winter semester), and June (for students arriving in the summer semester)

I understand that if my application is accepted, my monthly room rate is $800, and my agreement with AST is for the entire period noted on this form from May 2026 – August 2026. I understand that should I decide to leave before the end of that period, I will be responsible for payment of the full rent period. I have read the AST Residence Policy Document, Resident Handbook, and AST Sexual Violence Policy on the AST website and agree to abide by any standards and regulations specified there.
